LOCAL WALKS
Moving to the countryside often brings with it an irrepressible desire to wander around and simply discover the beauty of the region. So here's a short compilation of itineraries and other ways to explore the region! On foot, on horseback or by bike, there's something for everyone!
- The RouteYou application in particular will take you to some wonderful places. To use it, we recommend you enter your destination and select the criteria (means of transport, level of difficulty, journey time, etc.) to access an offer that totally matches your desires! For the more adventurous among us, there are many walks with steep gradients.
- The town of Spa's tourist website also has an interesting selection.
- More authentic, the sites of our fellow explorers quickly take us along more unusual paths. Take a look at the suggestions of Les Baroudeurs Liégeois. All you'll want to do is grab your boots and rucksack and set off to explore our beautiful Belgium! Choosing between the beer hike in Val-Dieu and the Street Art walk in the Cité Ardente (aka Liège) will be a complicated decision, as the attractions of these offbeat discoveries will pique your curiosity.
Whatever your choice of walk, you'll need to remember to bring your walking gear:
- Boots and walking poles, as the gradients in the region are notorious!
- A rucksack that can hold a camera, water bottle, sunglasses, sun cream/kway for overcast days.
- A first-aid kit to make sure you don't have to worry about a minor injury.
- A small observation kit: binoculars/magnifier depending on what you want to observe in nature (an ant? a deer in the distance?), a notebook and pencil to record your thoughts and sketches, etc.
- A bag to collect your rubbish and why not any that others may have inadvertently left behind in their path (let's preserve nature, dammit!).
Enjoy your discovery!
